Biography

Eleonora Maria Lanzone is a dedicated attorney with a strong international background and a deep commitment to justice.

Ms. Lanzone earned her law degree in Italy in 2022, graduating with top honors – 110/110 cum laude – along with two different commendations for her outstanding academic performance and thesis work.

During her legal studies, she developed a strong interest in international criminal matters, particularly the case of Enrico Forti, an Italian citizen serving a life sentence in Florida since 2000.  Ms. Lanzone began working on Mr. Forti’s request for transfer to Italy under the 1983 Strasbourg Convention during her first year of law school. Through this work, she established a professional connection with Joseph Tacopina, who had been representing Mr. Forti since 2014.

Ms. Lanzone played an active role in the diplomatic efforts surrounding Mr. Forti’s case.  She met with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Italian diplomats, and politicians, and galvanized support from notable figures, including opera singer Andrea Bocelli and his wife, Veronica.  She was deeply involved in the negotiations that ultimately led to Mr. Forti’s transfer to Italy, an achievement widely regarded as one of the most complex diplomatic transfers between the United States and Italy.

She conducted her Italian master’s thesis research at Tacopina Seigel & DeOreo in New York, where she assisted in two criminal trials – one involving allegations of shaken baby syndrome, and another concerning a hit-and-run fatality.  Both trials resulted in acquittals, further inspiring Ms. Lanzone’s admiration for the U.S. legal system and her mentors.

She went on to complete her LL.M. at the Cardozo School of Law in 2023, where she was awarded the school’s highest merit-based scholarship. This recognition enabled her to continue building her legal career in the United States.

In May 2023, Ms. Lanzone participated in the high-profile federal civil trial of E. Jean Carroll v. Donald Trump (SDNY), serving as part of the defense team for President Donald J. Trump.

She passed the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) on her first attempt in February 2024 and was the only international student in her LL.M. class to do so in the February examination.

As of September 2024, Ms. Lanzone is a licensed attorney and a member of the New York State Bar.

She actively participated as an attorney in the A$AP Rocky’s Trial in California (The People of the State of California v. Rakim Mayers), which resulted in an acquittal on both counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
